The 1905 Galatasaray Businessmen and Executives Association (1905 GSYİAD) has become the new shorts sponsor for the Galatasaray Football Academy. The signing ceremony took place on Monday at the Ali Sami Yen Sports Complex RAMS Park, with club board member Fatih Demircan and association president Murat Sancaktar in attendance.
With this deal, GSYİAD extends its support beyond the club's basketball and volleyball teams to its football academy. Murat Sancaktar stated that discovering young talents and raising them with the Galatasaray culture is invaluable for the club. Sancaktar said, "Supporting the development of our youth is one of the most meaningful contributions to Galatasaray's future."
Fatih Demircan emphasised that the youth setup is not merely a production line for the first team. Demircan noted, "We see every bit of support provided to our football academy not just as a contribution for today, but as an investment in Galatasaray's future." He added that this sponsorship means standing by the young athletes on their development journey.
THE PATH FROM ACADEMY TO FIRST TEAM
Both parties agreed that the ultimate goal of the agreement is to prepare youngsters for the senior squad and produce footballers who can succeed at an international level. The team sits top of the standings with 19 points from eight games, holding a two-point advantage.
Ahead of next week's key derby against Fenerbahçe, the message was clear that the club is targeting future successes as well as present ones. The yellow-reds, who beat Gençlerbirliği 1-0 in their last match, are spearheaded by Victor Osimhen, the top scorer in the squad this season with 6 goals. The hope is that new stars emerging from the academy will add to this chain of success.
The sponsorship will feature on the young players' kits and provide financial resources for the academy's operations. The ceremony highlighted that this solidarity is a sign of the Galatasaray community's commitment to its youth. Well-wishes were expressed for the deal to benefit all parties and the future star candidates. Galatasaray's next official match is at home against third-placed Fenerbahçe in the Süper Lig on Monday, 26 October, at RAMS Park.
