Galatasaray is continuing contract extension talks with Argentine striker Mauro Icardi. The yellow-red management has reached out to Icardi's representative to present a new contract offer. These negotiations, personally conducted by President Dursun Özbek, included an offer of a 5 million euro annual salary with bonuses and a 2-year contract with an option for 1 additional year. However, it has been reported that Icardi is demanding a salary increase to at least 7 million euros. Additionally, he is requesting a guarantee to play a certain number of matches in the upcoming season. It has also come to light that Icardi's representative is seeking a 3-year contract with an option for 1 additional year. While President Özbek is open to revising the annual salary, he has reportedly rejected the requests for contract duration and playing guarantees. Icardi's rejection of the offer and the conclusion of this process are expected to be finalized by the beginning of July.
