Transfer Details
Galatasaray has reached a substantial agreement with 23-year-old Senegalese midfielder Pape Matar Sarr, according to The Times on 24 August 2026. The club aims to finalize the transfer at €15 million. Sarr, who moved from Metz for €17 million in 2021, is still negotiating the price with Tottenham.
Sarr’s Situation
Tottenham spent €207 million on midfielders this season. Sarr was not included in the squad for the first Premier League match, a 3-0 loss to Brentford. Manager Roberto De Zerbi approved the player’s departure. Sarr said he wants to stay in the Premier League but responded positively to Galatasaray’s offer.
Other Transfer Offers
Galatasaray is also courting Lucas Torreira and recently extended Mario Lemina’s contract. With Sarr’s transfer, the club plans to strengthen the squad further if one of the two players leaves.

Sarr’s name surfaced last season as well. Due to the Africa Cup, Galatasaray approached the transfer cautiously. The board decided to act again in the summer, hoping for a successful outcome this time.
