Galatasaray have completed the signing of 22-year-old striker Deniz Gl from Porto for a fee of €10m. The player's license has been processed.
Deniz Gl came through Porto's youth academy and played his first senior season with Porto B. The striker has supported Galatasaray since childhood and expressed his desire to wear the jersey for his first match at RAMS Park.
With Deniz Gl's arrival, the number of Galatasaray players called up to Turkey's national team has increased to seven. Ürücan Akçur, Abdülkerim Bardakcı, Kaan Ayhan, Eren Elmal, Bar Alper Yılmaz and Yunus Akgün were already selected, meaning Galatasaray now supplies more internationals than any other Süper Lig club, Fenerbahçe provide four and Beşiktaş two.
The agreement with Porto includes a €10m fee for Deniz Gl. His integration with the squad was seen early on as he trained alongside fellow new signing Rafael Leao during his first session with the team.
Galatasaray's opening fixture is scheduled for Thursday 12 September against Konyaspor at RAMS Park, and Deniz Gl hopes to be available for that match.
