Galatasaray Preparation Match Defeat
Galatasaray suffered a defeat in their preparation match against Italian team Venice with a score of 3-0. Technical director Okan Buruk made detailed comments on the results and conditions necessary for the team during the preparation matches.
Conditions for National Players
"We are going through a preparation period here. We shouldn't be too much attached to the scores. There are seven national players this time. Today, we gave them some rest even though it was early but they wanted to play and we thought about taking them out after 45 minutes, so we took them out at the 60th minute," said Buruk.
Conditions for Defensive Midfielders
"Defensive midfield conditions are necessary. You need players who can perform such tasks. After Gabriel Sara entered, we tried one or two options. Players against teams that play man-to-man defense require a sprinter player," added Buruk.
Transition Week and Rennes Match
"This week is for us to make the transition. We will stay here for three more days. We will increase the intensity. Then, we will return to Turkey. We will reduce the intensity before the match against Rennes and come out better prepared for that game. It's important to go through these places without getting injured. It's also an opportunity for us to evaluate our squad structure without overly focusing on the results," Buruk continued.
Evaluation of Jankat Yılmaz
"Jankat Yılmaz made significant saves. He is a name we trust very much. He had a good season overall. Generally, I am very satisfied with his performance," said Buruk.
Comments on Transfers
We all wanted to bring the transfers here as soon as possible and make it happen. Of course, we are not happy about this pressure. It's important to get these transfers done quickly but how you do them is also important. There might be a player that you have to wait for. If you want an elite player, time is available, but it's not easy," Buruk added.
