Galatasaray’s Battle

Long before the transfer window closed, Pape Gueye was a target for the club, known both for his ambition and popularity. However, despite the team's best efforts to secure his signature from Villarreal, their hopes were dashed, with the final destination now being Everton in England, where they have reached an agreement.

Struggling Towards Galatasaray

Despite Everton’s close deal, Galatasaray has been negatively affected by this transfer loss. Their main focus had already shifted to other names after failing to reach a positive agreement with Villarreal and their initial offer of 30 million euros was met with a demand for 40 million from LaLiga club, leading them to eventually give up on the deal in June. The pursuit continued as they then looked towards other options like Lesley Ugochukwu.

However, none of these potential additions truly matched the profile Galatasaray had initially hoped for; Pape Gueye was a significant part of this transfer attempt led by Dursun Özbek and his team. Finalizing the deal now relies on Everton and Villarreal coming to specific agreements.
