Galatasaray have initiated transfer talks for RB Leipzig defender El Chadaille Bitshiabu. Negotiations for the 1.96m tall, 21-year-old centre-back are at an advanced stage.
Bitshiabu is a left-footed defender known for his physical strength and aerial dominance. He has gained experience in both the Bundesliga and the Champions League while playing for Leipzig. His exposure to top-level football at a young age is one of the traits that attracted Galatasaray's interest.
The team currently sits top of the Süper Lig table. They have collected 7 points from three games with two wins and a draw, scoring 9 goals and conceding 4. There is a clear need for a player with a strong physical presence in the back line. Bitshiabu's height and aerial ability could provide an extra option in set-piece situations, both defensively and offensively. Especially in a period where Victor Osimhen is the team's top scorer with 5 goals in 3 appearances, strengthening the defence is part of building a balanced squad strategy.
The outlet that first reported the news, Futbol Dünyası Sistemleri, stated that talks between the parties are 'at an advanced stage'. However, no official agreement has been reached yet. No clear information has been shared regarding the transfer fee or contract details. The process is expected to become clearer within this week. A potential change in the defensive section of the team's squad page could occur.
Galatasaray aims to continue its strong start to the league season. However, injuries are also a factor to consider. Forward Rafael Leão is currently on the sidelines. This situation shows the importance of squad depth. The team's next Süper Lig match is at home against 7th-placed Çaykur Rizespor on December 6, 2026. Details of this important match can be found on our fixtures page. Every match is critical to maintaining the top spot.
The team leads the table on points, not goal difference, as visible on our standings page. If the transfer for El Chadaille Bitshiabu is completed, the young French defender will not have time to be included in the squad for the Rizespor match on December 6th.
