Sports commentator Mustafa Çulcu has clarified the controversy surrounding Galatasaray's disallowed goal in their 1-0 Süper Lig victory over Kocaelispor. Çulcu stated that the referee's decision to cancel Deniz Gül's effort for offside was correct.
ÇULCU'S ASSESSMENT
Evaluating the incident, Mustafa Çulcu said the officiating team made the right call. "The footage clearly shows the offside," Çulcu remarked. "These decisions are made within the framework of the game's rules, and that was the case here." His comments put an end to the post-match debate.
Galatasaray secured a hard-fought three points from the away fixture thanks to Abdülkerim Bardakçı's 71st-minute goal. With this result, the Istanbul side moved into second place in the league, having collected 10 points from their first four matches. They trail leaders Beşiktaş by two points and have scored 12 goals so far this season.
The coaching staff is managing the squad in the absence of Günay Güvenç, Mario Lemina, Victor Osimhen, and Wilfried Singo. Galatasaray's next Süper Lig fixture is at home against fourth-placed Çaykur Rizespor on 6 December 2026, with all preparations taking place at the Ali Sami Yen Sports Complex facilities.
