Sarr's Galatasaray Offer

Crystal Palace head coach Pierre Sage announced that Palace had rejected Galatasaray’s offer for 28-year-old Senegalese striker Ismaila Sarr. Palace said the Turkish club’s bid was far below the club’s valuation. Sarr joined Palace from Marseille in the summer of 2024 for a €15 million fee and has scored 33 goals in 92 appearances for the club.

Sarr's Injury and Playing Status

Sarr missed Saturday’s Premier League opener against Everton because of a minor groin injury. Sage told a post-match press conference that "the doctor, the player and I decided before training yesterday to allow him treatment." He added that the injury had worsened.

Sarr's Career and Performance

In the last season, Sarr played 45 matches for Palace, scoring 21 goals and providing two assists. Palace finished 15th in the 2024-25 Premier League and won the Conference League. He also helped Palace win its first major trophy, the 2025 FA Cup. Internationally, Sarr scored four goals for Senegal at the 2026 World Cup, reaching the last-32.

Palace's New Signings

This summer Palace added defenders Anan Khalaili, Oscar Mingueza and Takehiro Tomiyasu, and wingers Dwight McNeil and Zavier Gozo. The Athletic reported that the club is also in talks to sign Chelsea defender Axel Disasi on loan.

The Team's Opening Match

Palace lost 2-0 to Everton in the Premier League season opener. The future of striker Jean-Philippe Mateta remains uncertain, while Sarr’s decision to stay at Palace is a key element of the club’s season strategy.
