Galatasaray president Dursun Özbek has addressed concerns over defender Wilfried Singo's injury and given his backing to manager Okan Buruk. Özbek stated that Singo's training knock is not serious and the player will rejoin the squad shortly.
"Singo's injury is not serious. It is an injury resulting from a blow during training." Özbek said. The comment puts to rest recent speculation about the Ivorian's condition.
Praising Buruk's record of four championships in four seasons, the president expressed full confidence in the manager. The team currently sits second in the Süper Lig with 13 points from six matches, with their recent form reading LWLWW.
Özbek also addressed the club's financial health, stating, "Galatasaray has no payment problems with its players." He noted that approximately $50 million was generated from the sales of Leao, Batrakov, and Deniz Gül, with a target to raise sponsorship revenue to 110-120 million euros this season.
The club's aim is to win a record fifth consecutive Turkish championship this campaign, which would be their 27th title overall. The next step in that challenge is a home league match against Kasımpaşa on October 9th.
